There I sat, stuck, distraught, frustrated behind my desk.

I kept switching between the many headlines I had drafted on my laptop, wondering which would be good enough for you, dear reader. Unwilling to complicate matters further, I picked one and went with it.

Many writers complicate writing by asking too many questions and trying to get everything right before they type a word. Things needn’t be so complicated.

You can spend all day — and a few nights — trying to get everything right before you start with that first draft. And it’s easy to spin in circles and land where you started, with what you started with — nothing.

Don’t put yourself through that. You only need these bare basics to write a good enough article.

A vague idea around a theme

If you’re prone to tying yourself in knots over finding the best version of the headline you want to write about, here’s your solution.

Having a fair idea of what you want to write about is good enough to get you started with writing. It needn’t be polished and ready to go from the get-go.
