Three reasons why higher education is not as useless as people think

What do you make of the view that pursuing an advanced degree is a waste of time and money?

Some people who identify themselves as entrepreneurs, freelancers, or side-hustlers are the most renounced for holding this viewpoint.

They cite examples of people dropping out of college to found their companies and take them public. Worse, they blame the school system for all the ills of society. I cringe anytime I hear it.

Some have even dared to call it stupid. Really? And that is the problem. Can we not share dissenting views without accusing others as dumber than us?

Full disclosure, I have been part of those who believed further education is a waste of time and money. The evangelists did an excellent job winning me over.

Yes, the cost of (advanced) college degrees is a big elephant we should think of slaying. Everyone should do a cost-benefit analysis of the degree they intend to pursue.

With that said, here is why most people are wrong about higher education.
