What It Feels Like When You’re Unable to Read/Write for Days

A situation-imposed writing break is the biggest nightmare

It’s impossible to write all year long with no breaks. At least I’ve not attained that level of invincibility yet.

Yes, I take most weekends off to rest and relax. Or, when life tasks me with other commitments, I’m usually away from the writing desk. But even in those cases, I still read and interact with my fans.

For example, I had a few weddings to cover and thousands of pictures to edit in April. For several days, I couldn’t write. But during that time, I could still read the words of others and say hi.

But not this time.

A sudden death

My laptop suddenly died on me. I did all I knew to revive it, but nope, it wouldn’t work. I took out the battery, opened it up, and cleaned the RAM, dusted other nameless components, all to no avail.

When the first aid failed, I took it to the experts, and after running a few tests, they told me the motherboard was dead. No warning, no notice. It just died one afternoon. Over this time — about eight days, I couldn’t write a word.
