I also do this sometimes, except without a timer.

I set a timer for 11-minutes, and I transcribe my thoughts. Whatever comes to mind, I write it down. This has a number of benefits:

I also do this sometimes, except without a timer. I stop when I want to. Maybe I should try using a timer too, for some variation.
