Creators and Freelancers in Africa Also Deserve to Get Paid

The obstacles to getting paid are beyond ridiculous

Whenever I see another African creator or freelancer share their frustrations about getting paid for their work, I want to shed a tear.

I feel their pain, but sadly, I can do nothing. Okay, I can do something — write about it.

People like me who know the situation have been loudly silent on crucial issues colleague creators from our part of the world face. And that silence is reverberating louder by the day. I accept my fault.

In most African countries, getting paid for your work as a freelancer or online creator is a struggle. From unsupported payment platforms to difficulties getting your identity verified, it’s an excruciating pain in the behind.

While no one owes any creator anything, asking for the interests of creators and freelancers in Africa to be considered isn’t too much to ask, is it?

Every labor of love has limits

It’s easy for people to dismiss these concerns of creators from some parts of the world (not) getting paid.
