“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Chinese proverb.

Have you also faced the challenge of finding just the right time to launch your side business or go live? How many delayed starts have you dealt with this far?

Sometimes, you see people waiting for inspiration, looking for the perfect time to strike. But is there one?

Research by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania shows that people choose some special days to begin working on their dream. These days are called temporary landmarks.

Author Dan Pink does a terrific job of breaking some of it down in his book When: The Science of Perfect Timing.

Armed with that knowledge, when I wanted to launch my new Medium publication and start a blog, I chose my birthday.

However, I realized well-wishers would have a lot of heartfelt messages for me on my birthday, and I would have to thank them profusely for their love.

So I decided to shift it to the start of the next month, which happened to be on October 1, 2020.
