The modern-day is a stress machine for many people. Some have to wake up super early — sometimes missing out on the recommended amount of sleep. Talk of the worst possible way to get started.

Add the many extra pressures of the day, and it’s clear some endure overly stressful days. The effects are poor performance on the job, a carryover effect on the house, or mental health problems.

Yes, some causes of these stressful days are beyond our control. But a few others are within your control. Or at least you can manage these factors better.

Often, they appear harmless. They’re like the new norm even. But these *harmless* everyday things can make your day overly stressful. Are you guilty of these common ones?

Decision fatigue

What dress to wear? Which colors should be combined for the perfect match? What to eat? Where to eat? Should I break the news or wait another day? Where should I go this weekend?

According to the Harvard Business Review, we make thousands of decisions daily — between 33,000 and 35,000. It’s easy for these decisions to overwhelm us. But that’s only the start.
