I thought one of my mates was getting engaged when I saw the congratulations raining in the WhatsApp group. But when I started reading the messages, I realized the kudos were to one of us who was a guest on a local TV station.

His work as a volunteer over the years has been getting some attention. Subsequently, a local media house has invited him for an interview.

When I tuned in, he was explaining how his team has created a website where anyone interesting in volunteering at least an hour every month to help teach kids coding, reading, and writing could register and become a volunteer.

The conversation inspired me, and I have come up with four reasons that could inspire you to start a passion project.

It gives you mastery over fear

Putting yourself out there as of the brains behind any initiative is a bold claim to make.

But the knowledge that you’ve overcome all the fears that could have held you back and taken a deep dive into the unknown reinforces your victory over the fear of starting something new.
