Wouldn’t you love the salve of success to soothe the pains of your struggles?

I figured you would, as should everyone.

I know you would also love to see that silly idea you almost gave up on become that thriving business that lots of people patronize.

But for a lot of people, between the idea and the real fruit is a chasm of fear. To them, the chances of making it are grim at best. They think about ways to cross that chasm and lose hope.

They end up taking a pass on what could become a life-changing journey, similar to an athlete passing up the opportunity to make a game-winning shot.

Every year, as he relives that moment, he wonders what could have been if he had trusted himself just 1% more and taken that shot. It could have gone in, and his team would have won.

He would have enjoyed the embrace from teammates, cheers from fans, love from the city, a new contract from the front office, an endorsement deal from sponsors, and even the chance to be counted as an all-time great.

It’s no secret that a lot of excellent ideas never went past the ideation stage into a real business…
